Review for Take A Chance by Annalisa Nicole

Book Description

Willow Emery is in the middle of chemotherapy when she literally runs into Asher Wellington on the sidewalk after treatment with a rather unfortunate outcome. She is alone in a new city and doesn’t need anyone in her life. If life has taught her anything it’s that you can’t rely on anyone.
Asher is a young widower, devastated by the tragic death of his wife Olivia three years earlier. He has given up the idea of ever finding the kind of love that he shared with his late wife. Will one fateful day bring two lost souls together? Will taking a chance lead them to a happily ever after or will the challenges they face keep them apart?
This is a mature audience book and is intended for adults only.

-REVIEW

This was a beautifully written sweet story. I fell in love with Willow and Asher both immediately after meeting them. The prologue starts out with Willow being told on her birthday that she has breast cancer. Then we skip a few months to where Willow only has a few chemo treatments left, and thats where chapter one starts. When she leaves the office she literally runs right into Asher, almost knocking her down. The nurse from the clinic hands Asher her appointment card thinking he is a friend of hers. He ponders it all week and decides to show up at Willows next appointment. From there the relationship starts.

At times the story felt a little rushed, but other times it flowed almost effortlessly. I think it possibly would have been more beneficial to have a little more descriptive writing in certain areas. Other than that the story flowed smooth yet very quickly. I enjoyed reading this because it was a nice change of pace. The novel was very well written and Annalisa writes like an experienced writer not a newbie. I would have given this story 5 stars but I fell it was just missing that WOW factor for me personally. If you are looking for a lighter quick read I would recommend you pick up this novel. I am looking forward to the next book in the series and following the Wellington family on their journey.
